Solution
This project originated from a tender requirement in the European region. The client's existing brick-built manholes suffered from significant shortcomings: lengthy on-site construction cycles and relatively high overall costs. Furthermore, the products had a short service life—requiring maintenance and inspection every two years—which continuously drove up long-term operation and maintenance expenses. Additionally, the height of the brick structures lacked flexibility for adjustment; consequently, they were prone to cracking and deformation in the event of ground settlement, rendering their stability and durability insufficient to meet the demands of long-term use. Addressing these specific pain points and adhering to the project's technical standards, we custom-developed a fully prefabricated, buried manhole system utilizing SMC material for the client. Through comprehensive optimization of both structural design and material selection, we have substantially enhanced on-site construction efficiency,reduced overall construction and maintenance costs, and effectively resolved issues related to height adaptability and settlement-induced cracking. This solution provides the project with a more reliable, cost-effective, and efficient supporting solution for its underground utility network.
